I assembled a Prusa i3 3D printer kit in the summer of 2015. FolgerTech sells these to enthusiasts and I had to assemble everything from many components and eventually had to fabricate some components from scratch. Learning how each component worked and the functionality of all of the electronic and mechanical components was my intent. This printer is still a running project to learn about machine design and additive manufacturing over the time that I have owned it. With many part upgrades and repairs, the current specs are stated below.
Prusa i3 Specifications
The i3 currently has an auto bed probe, an E3D hotend and a Titan extruder, a PEI build surface, and an upgraded Y-gantry. Octoprint on a RPI, is set up with wireless uploading to the printer from Cura.
